Innovative Water Treatment Products

Do Aqueous Logic’s Inhibitor and Protector prevent the corrosion of aluminium?
Yes our products offer excellent corrosion protection to all metals. Our Protector is the only corrosion inhibitor to have a published corrosion profile based upon independent testing using the British Gas corrosion ranking test.

Are Aqueous Logic products ok to use as part of the Benchmark Scheme?
Yes. Our products are recognised as acceptable for use inconjunction with the Benchmark scheme. Our Rapid-Dose Protector is the only inhibitor on the market with a published independently tested corrosion profile using the corrosion ranking test that was developed by British Gas to rate corrosion inhibitor effectiveness.

Is Aqueous Logic Inhibitor /Protector compatible with competitors’ inhibitors?
Most brands update their formulations on an ongoing basis and it is not possible to know what effect mixing inhibitors will have. The cocktail of chemicals produced by mixing products could be detrimental to the heating system and hence we recommend flushing or topping up with the same inhibitor as is currently in the system. Any manufacturer that tells you that their product is compatible with other products is either selling water or is misleading you.

Are Aqueous Logic cleaners aggressive?
No. Although they are highly effective, they are not aggressive. Unlike Acid cleaners, which will attack all the system pipework potentially opening pinholes and exposing other system weak points, the Aqueous Logic products use tuned chemistry to solve a particular problem such as rust or scale. They are designed to have little to no activity toward pipework.

Are Aqueous Logic cleaners safe?
Yes. All of our products are neutral pH cleaners and will therefore not cause burns. The main active ingredients in all the cleaners are widely used as food preservatives and additives. None of our products require special handling or COSHH training.

Do Aqueous Logic cleaners have to be neutralised before flushing?
No. Unlike acid cleaners, the Aqueous Logic cleaners do not have to be neutralised before flushing. Not having to do this will save the plumber time and money.

How long can Aqueous Logic cleaners be left in the system?
All Aqueous Logic cleaners are neutral and have very low corrosivity to the pipework. However, as the cleaner will dissolve/dislodge muck, scale and sludge, we recommend that the system be flushed within a reasonable timescale. This will give a much better result. The recommended cleaning time with heat is between 2 hours to 7 days. Typically about 80% of the cleaning occurs in 2 to 8 hours. 90% cleaning occurs within 24 hours. The cleaning peak is at four days. All cleaners increase corrosion slightly during the cleaning process. In order to minimize this effect, we recommend keeping the cleaners in the system for less least amount of time that is practicable.

Can Rapid-Dose Boiler Descaler be left in the system indefinitely?
No. It's necessary to flush Rapid-Dose Boiler Descaler from the heating system and then add a Protector/Inhibitor to prevent the original problem from recurring!

Is system cleaning likely to be quicker using Aqueous Logic products?
Yes. Due to their high level of efficacy Aqueous Logic products will typically require less time to clean a system and will require fewer applications where a system is heavily fouled.

Can Aqueous Logic cleaners be used with power flush machines?
Yes. All Aqueous Logic cleaners can be used in power flush machines. In fact they perform exceptionally well when used in this way.

How can I increase the rate of cleaning when using Aqueous Logic’s cleaners?
This can be accomplished by raising the temperature of the heating system. For every 10 degrees the cleaning rate will double (2,4,8,16,32). To clean at the fastest rate, set the boiler thermostat to maximum. This means that cleaning without using a power flushing machine can actually be quicker as many power flushing machines have a maximum temperature of 60 degrees.

Are there instances where Aqueous Logic cleaners solve problems competitors’ products do not?
Yes. As Aqueous Logic products are highly effective and tuned, they are particularly good at dealing with systems that are heavily fouled or rusted. In general because our products are more concentrated, they will successfully restore systems where other products fail.

System that are suffering gas or air problems often are sorted out by sludge dissolver because the product contains a biocide to kill the bacteria that is causing the problem.

Who else uses Aqueous Logic products?
Aqueous Logic products have been widely used in industrial/commercial applications for more than a decade and are used by tens of thousands of plumbers, housing associations, facility managers, and councils. The innovative nature of Aqueous Logic’s products was recently recognized by UK Centre for Economic and Environmental Development (UK CEED) by being listed as highly commended in the product category of the Energy Efficiency Awards 2007(see news).

Are Aqueous Logic cleaners environmentally sound?
Yes. The ingredients are either biodegrade or are not environmental toxins. Some ingredients are nutrients which are degraded/consumed in the waste treatment plant.

How do Aqueous Logic’s Inhibitor and Protector save money on fuel?
Our products have high levels of scale inhibitors built into them. Recently there has been a lot of work done in governmental labs showing that in hard water areas, boilers lose significant efficiency (5 to 15%) in quite short times (three months) if scale control is not done. The scale inhibitors in our products stop scale sticking to the boiler heat exchanger and will maintain boiler efficiency.
